There are a lot of beautiful, prosperous, friendly, and cultured cities in our country, but McKinney, Texas outshines all of them! This year Time’s list of Best Places to Live 2014 put McKinney at the very top of the list, and for good reason: our city is simply– the best.
Affordable
Time put the average 3-bedroom house at around $200,000; while the popularity of McKinney is increasing– and thus the housing prices– it’s still at an affordable place for families and people beginning their careers to buy and settle in. Compared with larger cities, like Dallas, the price for a home and the taxes are far more affordable; plus we offer the cozy feel of a small town within a metropolitan area.
Up and coming
The projected job growth for McKinney is 13.2% according to Time— far higher than most of the other desirable cities listed. This is because McKinney has the unique virtue of attracting growth-industry jobs: Time reports that aviation, green energy, and medical services are moving to the region while Fortune 500 companies are close by– only a short commute away.
Education
For parents of young families, quality of education is a major factor in deciding where the family should live. And McKinney doesn’t fail to deliver. The school system in the area is “college-prep” focused, with an eye on the bigger picture: AP classes start in middle school. And there are plenty of funds to make sure these kids succeed: this January, Apple Macbook Airs will be distributed to high schoolers to be used in the educational curriculum.
Quality of life
